KAtherine & Ryan

A Candlelit Cathedral Wedding in the Heart of Vancouver
Holy Rosary Cathedral - Vancouver, BC
Some love stories take the long way around. And when they finally arrive, they arrive with so much more intention, so much more depth, so much more meaning than if they had followed the original plan. Katherine and Ryan's wedding was one of those stories.
After navigating the kind of personal challenges that would test any couple, they made it. They stood inside the breathtaking Holy Rosary Cathedral in downtown Vancouver, surrounded by candlelight and the people they love most, and they chose each other. Again. Fully and without reservation.
This one meant everything.
The Ceremony at Holy Rosary Cathedral, Vancouver
There are very few ceremony venues in Vancouver that can genuinely stop you in your tracks, and Holy Rosary Cathedral is one of them. The soaring ceilings, the stone archways, the light filtering through stained glass windows and landing softly on the faces of the people gathered inside. It is the kind of space that does not need much help from a photographer. You simply point your camera and try to keep up.
They were MORE than just photographers on our wedding day, they were equally as excited and dedicated to this day as me and my partner were
"... We will cherish these pictures forever in our hearts. Love these two and their energy and who they are as humans as well …"

Cocktail Hour at the Vancouver Club
Where REVERENCE Softens Into CELEBRATION
After the ceremony, guests were welcomed into the Georgian Room at the Vancouver Club for cocktail hour, and the atmosphere shifted from reverent to celebratory in the best possible way.

Vancouver Club Grand Ballroom
Candlelight, Rhythm, and a ROOM IN MOTION
The dance floor came alive thanks to @signaturewedding.ca on the decks, and one of the most memorable moments of the night was a breathtaking belly dance performance by Victoria Rose of victoria.rose.dance that had every single guest on their feet. It was unexpected, it was electric, and it was perfectly Katherine and Ryan.

A Note on Postponed Weddings
We want to say something to any couple reading this who has had to push their date back, for whatever reason. The wait is hard. We know. But there is something that happens when a couple finally gets to have the day they planned for. An extra layer of gratitude. An extra depth of meaning. A joy that has been marinating for a long time and comes out richer for it.
Katherine and Ryan had that. It radiated off them all day long. And we felt extraordinarily lucky to be the ones capturing it.

The Grand Reception
A Night That Lingered LONG AFTER the Last Dance
The vision that planner @plannedbysydney brought to life in that room was extraordinary. Candlelight everywhere. Florals from @peoniesfineflowers that were lush and romantic and completely at home in a room that grand. Every detail was considered, layered, intentional. This was not a wedding that cut corners. Katherine and Ryan had waited long enough for this day and they were going to do it right.
